I just got back from a week and a half in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and Michigan, and I’m off to Comic-Con International this week. You might have noticed that Deadpool Role-Plays the Marvel Universe came out for the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game while I was gone, and that World of Warcraft Chronicle IV (which my son Marty wrote most of) released too. If those are your kinds of things, I hope you enjoy them!
For Comic-Con, Marty and I have a signing at the Dark Horse Comics booth on Wednesday night, plus a few huge events set up with MAVERiC Studio and UCSD on Thursday and Friday. I also have a panel on Saturday.
Here’s a cool promo video for the UCSD event:
Details for all events here:
Wednesday, July 24
- 6 PM: Signing for World of Warcraft Chronicle IV in the Dark Horse Comics booth (#2615), inside the convention center.
Thursday, July 25
- Noon – 9 PM: A Day with Matt Forbeck. This is at Park & Market, a short walk from the convention center, and it’s free! No badge required! Marty and I and a fantastic cast are doing an actual-play game — set in my Shotguns & Sorcery world — to celebrate 50 years of Dungeons & Dragons. That runs from 1 –5 PM. Afterward, there’s a steampunk cosplay mixer with music and wild new drinks, including (hopefully) a dragonfire cocktail.
- Tickets are free, but you should grab them here to guarantee you can get it.
Friday, July 26
- 10 AM – 1:30 PM: A book signing at the UC-San Diego Bookstore. This is also free, and no ticket necessary. Just come out and say hi!
- 1:45 PM – 3 PM: A live discussion being recorded in The Basement, Room 151.
- This is free too, and you can get tickets for it here.
Saturday, July 27
- 10 – 11 AM: Celebrating 50 Years of Dungeons & Dragons. Room 6DE, in the convention center. Industry experts Anjali Bhimani (Desi Quest, Critical Role), Kailey Bray (producer), Luke Gygax (founder, Gary Con), Jim Zub (author, Dungeons & Dragons, IDW Publishing), and Matt Forbeck (writer, game designer, Endless Quest) share how Dungeons & Dragons has taken its place on top of the pop culture dungeon. Moderated by Ross Thompson.
Whew! That seems like enough! Anyhow, I hope to see you there — and if you’re not there, I hope to see you at Gen Con next week instead!
(If you get this via email and don’t see any images, I’m not sure what’s going on, but you can go to my website to read it in all its color-splashed glory. If you know how to fix such things, let me know. I’m too busy getting ready for the show to tackle it now.)
